Fetal Medicine is also known as perinatology in medical terminology and it is a vast branch of medicine that primarily focuses on managing health concerns of the mother and fetus during and after pregnancy. At our centre, we have a team of specialised physicians who have sub specialised in the field of obstetrics and fetal medicine. They perform prenatal tests, provide treatments and also perform surgeries along with adequate consultation with neonatologists and pediatricians in cases of high risk pregnancies.

Fetal medicines includes several sub disciplines and the specialists attend to patients who require holistic maternal care that includes monitoring mothers for any chances of complications and fetus to prevent onset of congenital abnormalities.

ANC Ultrasonography (Screening & Targeted)

Periodic screening and targeted ultrasonography throughout the gestational period is mandatory to ensure healthy growth of the mother and fetus, detect possible abnormalities and suggest a treatment likewise.  

Amniocentesis

Amniocentesis is a method wherein the amniotic fluid is assessed to determine any possible abnormalities in the growing fetus.  

Chorion Villous Sampling ( CVS )

CVS is a test that is performed by specialists to detect congenital abnormalities in the fetus. It is done by extracting a sample from the chorion and subjecting it to tests.  

Intrauterine Blood Transfusion

Intrauterine or fetal blood transfusion is done in cases of fetal anemia and to correct few other conditions.

Fetal Reduction

This process is done to reduce the number of fetuses in a multifetal pregnancy to a twin or singleton pregnancy to avoid complications.  

High Risk Counselling

This includes a screening and diagnostic assessment to detect high risk maternal fetal abnormalities considering after reviewing the preexisting health issues and guidance and counselling accordingly.
