Women who have accidentally conceived and do not want a child can opt for this procedure in the early stages of pregnancy. But women are suffering from certain medical conditions like ectopic pregnancy, ovarian mass, anemia, high blood pressure or kidney and liver disorders cannot go for MTP and have to undergo critical assessment and tests to decide the mode of action for termination of fetus. The procedure is painful not physically but rather mentally and takes a couple of weeks to fully recover. It is imperative to take complete rest post the procedure and have a support system for emotional support. Indications of MTP are in accordance with MTP Act, India.
