Neuropelvology aids appropriate examination of the pain and helps the specialist to reach to a definite diagnosis whether the root cause of the pain is visceral or somatic. The neuropelvological procedure includes certain steps like determination of the nerve pathways, determination of the location of neurological injury, determination of the type of nerve lesion, neurological confirmation of the suspected diagnosis, determination of potential aetiology in accordance to patient’s history and clinical findings and final definition of suspected cause and layout of the treatment. Chronic pelvic pain management includes assessment of the pain, therapeutic treatment and therapies in conjunction to the condition. Basic tests including pelvic exam, CT scan, ultrasound and laparoscopy are performed to assess the root cause and severity of pain. On attainment of definite diagnosis, it is followed by therapeutic treatment and medications for pain management. Additional therapies like physiotherapy and neurostimulation are performed.

In this procedure, the aim is to use nerve preserving surgeries especially for patients with cancer for total preservation of pelvic nerves without compromising on radical extirpation of the tumor.

This approach is ancillary treatment to basic laparoscopic surgeries and aim at decreasing endometriosis associated pelvic pain. The method involves ablation of ligaments to achieve pain control.
